These evenings are great for both corporate and private groups.
Petr, the local pots and pan builder, looks to improve his way of life and bring some fortune to himself and his wife.
Upon some misunderstood guidance from the local Lord Mayor (Richard J. Klassen), Petr (Chicago Dyck) decides to become a lawyer, much to the chagrin of his wife (Hannah Franz). What better way to start things off as a lawyer but to get some cloth from the local Draper. However, how does one obtain cloth without any money – just leave it to Petr who manages to get the cloth.
Introduce the Draper, the one and only Cornie Dyck (Dave Hildebrandt) who is a miser of a man determined to fleece everyone for as much as he can get. When the Draper goes to visit Petr and his wife, he is then confounded to find Petr “sick” in bed. After a series of hilarious interactions he no longer knows what to believe and leaves confused and dazed.
Petr seems to have life by the horns when the local Shepherd (Milt Olfert) shows up asking Petr to defend him in court for eating his master’s sheep… but will Petr learn the truth about reaping what one sows as the situation complicates itself in the court room.
The 4-Act Dinner Theatre is presented “in the round” with the staging in the middle of the floor. An evening combining great food and a comedy-farce which reminds us that we reap what we sow.
Seating is arranged around round tables of 6-9 person settings. Please note that if you are with a smaller group, you may be placed with another small group at your table.

To Clarify
Please note that when ordering your reservations, there are no physical tickets involved. We will reserve your seats for the date you request. Confirmation will be sent to you by email along with an invoice for your reservation.
Groups will be seated together. If reservations are made separately, please indicate the group you would like to sit with (there is opportunity to do that within the online form).
For larger groups who may need some time to verify how many people will be coming, we ask that you reserve the number you believe you will need and then over the course of time stay in touch to let us know where your reservation needs are at. Preferably we would like a close idea 2 weeks prior to the performance date of choice, and then a final confirmation 7 days prior to the date. At this point, we can then finalize an invoice for you.
Upon ordering your tickets online, please allow for a few days of processing after which a confirmation email will be sent along with an invoice. Payment can be arranged as per the options outlined in the reservation form process. If you do not receive any confirmation within 2-3 days, please call the box office to clarify (204-822-7469).
Due to the arrangements with the caterer in ordering food and setting the placements for the event, Candlewick has been asked to send in final orders 7 days prior to the date of your performance. As a result, final numbers must be in by that reservation deadline. After this time, if someone has to cancel, we ask each group to be responsible to find a replacement or to honor paying their reservation. Candlewick does not have a “waiting list” nor would we know who might have wanted to come to an evening if it were advertised as “sold out” or “booked”.
Again, everyone is responsible for honoring their reservation. Candlewick has had to establish this policy due to groups over the years who cancelled last minute leaving Candlewick responsible to cover the costs of their reservations.
Thank-you for considering us for your Christmas Dinner Theatre experience. We appreciate you working with us to make the event run smoothly and give optimum opportunity for enjoyment! Best wishes for the season.
